1. Where are you located? We are in Midland, MI on Parish Road between Waldo and Flajole.
2. How much are group classes and often do they meet? Group classes are $150 and meet once a week for 6 weeks.
3. How much are private lessons? Private lessons are $100 for a one hour lesson.
4. How do we register? You can register for group classes or private lessons on the "Register Here" page of this website.
5. What if it says "Nothing Available?" Group Classes begin approximately every 7 weeks. Registration is open for a few weeks prior to the start date of each class. Registration for group classes is only available during that window. Watch the website and Facebook page for announcements for the next session and registration dates. For private lessons, it means all available lessons for that month have been taken. Come back in a few days and check again. The calendar for the next month is available the end of the month, each month.
6. What if my dog doesn't like other dogs? If your dog cannot be in a room or area with other dogs, please register for private lessons. Know this BEFORE registering for a group class, as your fee is not refundable if your dog cannot be in a group class. You have reserved the spot and it can't be given to somebody else once classes begin.
7. Do you come to our home to work with our dog? No, we only do lessons at our facility. BUT, we do have a trainer who does! Megan Barnard of B's Downtown Dogs does in home lessons that can be schedule with her through her buisiness. We also refer to a Professional Certified Behavior Constultant and Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist for dogs who will benefit from their level of expertise. We are here to help guide you to the best professional for your dog's needs.
8. Can I call you for some advice? Although we would love to help every dog with a simple piece of advice, this isn't always possible, and can become very time consuming. Please make an appointment for a private lesson. If you would rather do a live online consultation, you can email us to receive instructions how to schedule and pre-pay for a zoom consultation. Zoom consultations can determine what further action should be planned.
9. Can my friends and I be in the same class? Sure! If you would like to schedule a time for group classes with 3 - 5 friends, please contact us. We have accommodated home-school groups and friend groups.
10. What is covered in each class? Our basic puppy class and basic adult dog class cover basic skills needed for a dog to be a great family member and member of the community. We teach and practice, Wait At The Door, Sit, Touch, Place, Down, Stay, Recall, Leash Walking, Greeting People, and Leave It.
Our Beyond Basics class teaches and practices all of the skills from the basic class, but at a higher level, AND we introduce some Pattern Games from the Control Unleashed series and more advanced greeting skills.
Beyond Basics is available for dogs who have taken a Basic class, or a series of private lessons WITH US. The other classes we offer are available ONLY to dogs who have taken Beyond Basics or a series of private lessons WITH US. Those class discriptions are available in our closed client group when the classes are available. Some of those classes are: Intro to Sport Dogs, Rally-Obedience, Urban Excursion, AKC Trick Dog, AKC Canine Good Citizen, and our Pattern Games, Trying Teens and Reactive Dog Classes.
